DMCA Policy
Effective Date: February 9, 2026
1. Introduction
CrownForge LLC respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"). Crowncade hosts browser-based games from both CrownForge LLC and third-party developers, and we take copyright infringement seriously. If you believe that content available on or through Crowncade infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice as described below.
2. Designated Agent
Copyright infringement complaints should be sent to our designated DMCA agent:
CrownForge LLC DMCA Agent
Email: [email protected]
This email is for DMCA notices only. For general inquiries, use [email protected].
3. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
To file a valid DMCA takedown notice, you must provide a written communication that includes all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature (or that of a person authorized to act on your behalf)
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and its location on Crowncade, with enough detail for us to locate it (e.g., game title, URL, specific assets)
- Your contact information, including name, address, telephone number, and email address
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf
4. Game-Specific Notices
Crowncade hosts browser-based games created by CrownForge LLC and third-party developers. If you believe a game on our platform infringes your intellectual property, please include the following in your DMCA notice in addition to the requirements above:
- The specific game title and URL where it can be found on Crowncade
- A description of the specific infringing content (e.g., copied sprites, stolen music, cloned gameplay mechanics that incorporate protected expression)
- If applicable, links to your original work for comparison
Note: Game mechanics and general gameplay concepts are generally not copyrightable. DMCA notices should address specific copyrighted expression (artwork, music, code, text) rather than abstract ideas or mechanics.
5. Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, and telephone number
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the Western District of Pennsylvania (or if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which CrownForge LLC may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original takedown notice or an agent of such person
We will forward valid counter-notifications to the original complainant. If the complainant does not file a court action seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity within 10 business days, we may restore the removed content.
6. Processing Timeline
- Takedown notices: We aim to process valid takedown requests within 5 business days
- Counter-notifications: Restored content (following a valid counter-notification) will be reinstated within 10–14 business days unless the copyright owner files a court action
7. Repeat Infringers
In accordance with the DMCA, we will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. We may also, at our sole discretion, limit access to the Service or terminate the accounts of any users who infringe any intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.
For game developers: if multiple games you upload are subject to valid DMCA takedown notices, your upload privileges and/or account may be permanently revoked.
8. Good Faith and Misrepresentation Warning
Please consider carefully before submitting a DMCA notice or counter-notification. Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing — or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification — may be subject to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees incurred by the alleged infringer, the copyright owner, or their licensees.
If you are unsure whether content infringes your copyright, consider consulting an attorney before filing a notice.
